Nathan Adrian may seem to be on the back foot when compared to Cielo Filho but in head to head encounters, such as at the 2010 Pan Pacific when Adrian won both the 100m and 50m freestyle. Adrian caused a major upset, finishing in a time of 21.55s, beating Cielo Filho’s 21.57s.
